{"id":2519,"date":"2024-02-28T10:05:54","date_gmt":"2024-02-28T09:05:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bu.aubp.ch\/event\/poetic-aperitif\/"},"modified":"2024-06-04T08:11:50","modified_gmt":"2024-06-04T06:11:50","slug":"poetic-aperitif","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/bu.aubp.ch\/en\/event\/poetic-aperitif\/","title":{"rendered":"Poetic aperitif"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"short-description\">\n<h3 class=\"field field--name-field-n-short-description field--type-string field--label-hidden field__item\">Reading by Marina Skalova, carte blanche \u00e9ditions de l&#8217;Ours Blanc<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p><span lang=\"FR\" xml:lang=\"FR\">Marina Skalova, <em>Finding the mist of paradise<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"FR\" xml:lang=\"FR\">With <em>Trouer la brume du paradis<\/em>, Marina Skalova continues her extensive project, initiated in 2019 following a three-month residency in Moscow under the patronage of Pro Helvetia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><br \/>\n  <span lang=\"FR\">Trouer la brume du paradis<\/span><br \/>\n<\/em><span lang=\"FR\"> is a translation of a collection of poems by Yanka Diaghileva, a comet who briefly shone on the punk scene of the Soviet Union in the late &#8217;80s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"FR\" xml:lang=\"FR\">Yanka Diaghileva&#8217;s songs and poems, written in an abrute language that conjures up strange images imbued with folkloric and mythological elements, tell the story of an existence shaped by urgency and precariousness, but also by the need not to bow to the demands of a dying dictatorial state.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"FR\" xml:lang=\"FR\">Trouer la brume du Paradis is part of a vast cycle of translations undertaken by Russian-born poet and translator Marina Skalova. It focuses on &#8220;<\/span><span lang=\"FR\" xml:lang=\"FR\">the place of women in Soviet Russia&#8221;, through the works of women poets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"FR\" xml:lang=\"FR\">In so doing, she reconstructs a genealogy of her own writing, recalling its roots in a radical, anarchist Russian literary tradition that has always refused to give in to any form of oppression.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"FR\" xml:lang=\"FR\">Marina Skalova (Moscow, 1988) writes poetry, theater and UFOs that explore the black holes between literary genres. She is also a literary translator from Russian and German.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"FR\" xml:lang=\"FR\">Author, she has published <em>Atemnot \/ Souffle court<\/em>, (Cheyne, 2016)<em> <\/em>reissued by H\u00e9ros-Limite in 2023; <em>Exploration du flux <\/em>(Seuil, Fiction &amp; Cie, 2018); <em>La chute des com\u00e8tes et des cosmonautes <\/em>(th\u00e9\u00e2tre, L&#8217;Arche, 2019), which she translates into German with Frank Weigand.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"FR\" xml:lang=\"FR\">This autumn sees the publication of her translations of <em>Tu es l&#8217;avenir <\/em>(Vanloo editions), a collection of poems by Galina Rymbu, a major Russian poet living in Ukraine, and <em>Verdicts<\/em> by Lida Youssoupova (Zo\u00e8me editions), a book of documentary poems based on Russian court reports.
